Valandis has suffered immensely for several generations now, manipulated into fighting by greedy and foolish tyrants.While Chained Echoes is turn-based most of the frills that are usually associated with the genre have been cut removing the padding and making it more or less fast-paced, like having no random encounters, battles taking place directly where it started, and characters will just execute actions immediately.Again: Keep in mind this is very much pre-alpha.Take up your sword, channel your magical powers, and get inside your mechs in Chained Echoes a 16-bit pixel art style themed JRPG made by Deck13, where you travel around the content of Valandis a land where dragons are as commonplace as giant piloted mechanical suits, yet still torn apart by devastating conflict between its three most powerful kingdoms vying for control of its limited resources. We tease quite a few features but do not really show them off. And the Dualshock layout has not yet been implemented. There are no real options in the Demo.The GUI for these, also when exploring the world, is just placeholder stuff. And there aren’t that many dialogues just yet. The dialogues were written exclusively for the Demo.You will still have fun (at least we hope so) but especially the Overdrive system will be way more complex in the final game, offering multiple stages of Overdrive and Overheat. The Combat System is not yet fully finished.The system is, more or less, in place already but for the demo we had to cut it out and change the balancing. There is no progression system in the demo.

Why take it down? The thing is: Yes, it shows off Chained Echoes but it does not represent the final quality of the game. We thought about taking it down as soon as Gamescom ends, but we wanted to give everyone a chance to give it a try.
